Release Engineer II
The Release Engineer will act as the main point of contact for all Release Management activities for the department and be responsible for the orchestration all releases (“Standard”, patches, etc.), including written communication to impacted Group Companies. The Engineer will be running multiple meetings from retrospective to release planning and readiness review meetings. Working across multiple technical, QA, and User Acceptance teams, the Engineer will ensure all development and testing efforts are complete and are compliant with the published Release Management processes. Also, adherence against Change Management processes, including completion of tasks, approvals, and representation during the designated Change Advisory Board meetings, is required. As part of management of all releases, the Engineer will work with Project Managers to orchestrate all necessary milestones for Release Management, QA, User Acceptance, and Change Management teams. Lastly, the Engineer will create and maintain Release-related metrics and communicate them to the varying management stakeholders.
Secondly, the Release Engineer will also participate in the expansion of User Acceptance Framework discipline. The User Acceptance Framework defines an enhanced relationship between IT and the user community through engagement early and often, additional transparency from IT and users, and high levels of collaboration throughout the SDLC. The Engineer will work with varying project teams to understand the project scope and impact to end users, engage the stakeholders, and ensure those stakeholders are able to conduct UAT; while ensuring all activities are complete in preparation of UAT. The Engineer will serve as a liaison between the User and IT implementation teams on varying projects across Group Companies in adherence to the Framework. The Engineer will be responsible for developing Acceptance Test Plans, ensuring completion of User Acceptance Checklists, updating Execution Plans, and delivering information through weekly statuses. The Engineer will also ensure the reporting of User Acceptance metrics is complete. Lastly, the Engineer will also work with Quality and Release Management leadership to maintain processes and practices necessary to retain accurate information; and improve upon them if necessary.
