HR & Recruiting Specialist

The HR Specialist performs limited generalist duties in support of the programs, policies, procedures of the HR Department. Either in conjunction with the HR and HR Recruiting teams or directly, is responsible for select processes in general HR areas such as recruitment, hiring/ terminations, social media employment branding, corporate social responsibility and employee engagement. Provides support for department administrative duties such as invoices, maintaining employee files, and supply ordering. Interacts with candidates, managers, employees, outside agencies, and others on requisitions and HR-related issues, which may include employee relations, performance management, compensation, engagement activities, corporate social responsibility (CSR), training, and/or special projects.
Job Responsibilities and Essential Required Functions
BA / BS required.
1 - 3 years of experience in HR preferred.
Experience with insurance organizations highly desirable.
Knowledge of HR best practices.
Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local employment laws/regulations.
Knowledge, insight, and understanding of business concepts and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel.
